Castle Community Grows in Ontario

Castle announced today that they have added another new location to the Ontario map, this time in Nipigon. Maada'oozhgamig Castle Building Centre is the newest member to join the group. The full-service Lumber, Building Materials and Hardware business is a First Nation owned and operated building centre, that was established to support the local consumers of Northwestern Ontario and First Nation communities.

Owners Shawn Sobush and The Grossi Group purchased the existing retail store, which was part of a competing banner. After reviewing the proposed contract and all its nuances, the partners quickly realized that it was far too restrictive and didn’t align with their independent aspirations.

Ultimately, they declined to sign the agreement and this led them to Castle. The team was thoroughly impressed with the fact that Castle already had a significant presence and great reputation among First Nations communities across Canada. Castle’s offering was perfectly in line with their values and future goals, and they welcomed the opportunity be part of an already well-established First Nations partner.

“We are thrilled to come on board as a new member of Castle Building Centres Group! We believe this is the start of a long-lasting relationship with a great group of people!” Shawn Sobush, Owner/Partner

Partnering with Castle will provide excellent opportunities for the Maada’oozhgamig business and ensure that they will thrive and grow in the future. General Manager, Marlo Beaucage, is looking forward to serving the community with her knowledgeable staff and the region’s best products and service. An official grand opening is planned in the coming months.

“Castle offers entrepreneurs a unique and proven business model with unlimited growth potential. Independents can have full confidence in their future success and feel unrestricted when it comes to running their own business.” Ken Jenkins, President

Castle would like to welcome Maada’oozhgamig to the family.
